How Do I Create a Custom Post Format in WordPress?
Creating a custom post format in WordPress is easy. To start, first go to your WordPress admin area and choose Posts.
Then, under the Format menu, select Edit Custom Post Format.
You’ll see a list of all the post formats available in WordPress. To create a new format, select the desired option from the list, and then enter a brief description of the format in the text box below.
Once you’ve created the format, you can choose to make it active by ticking the checkbox next to the format name. If you want to use the format on a specific post or page, you can also assign it to a post or page by entering the post ID or page ID in the text box below.
Finally, you’ll need to choose a theme that supports custom post formats. Themes that support custom post formats include Twenty Fifteen, Twenty Sixteen, and Twenty Seventeen.
If you don’t have a specific theme in mind, you can use the Custom Post Formats plugin to find a theme that supports your new format.
Once you’ve created and activated your custom post format, you can start using it on your posts and pages. Be sure to let your readers know about the new format so they can take advantage of it.
And, if you have any questions about using custom post formats in WordPress, be sure to check out the WordPress Codex or the WordPress Support Forums.
