How Do I Add a Custom Category Image in WordPress?

Adding a custom category image in WordPress is easy. First, go to the Appearance > Custom Fields section of your WordPress dashboard.

You’ll see a list of all the custom fields available in your WordPress site. Click on the category field you want to add a custom image to, and you’ll see the Custom Fields screen.

If you don’t have a custom image ready, you can upload one using the upload button. Click on the Image field, and you’ll see the screen shown below.

Upload your image using the file upload button, and then enter the dimensions of the image in the Width and Height fields. You can also set the file type in the File Type field.

Click on the Preview button to see the image in the field. If you’re happy with it, click on the Save Changes button to save your changes.

Now, you’ll need to add the image to your posts and pages. To do this, go to the Posts screen and click on the Edit button next to the post you want to use the image in.

You’ll see the Edit Post screen.

Click on the Images tab, and you’ll see the Images field. You can upload the image you just saved using the upload button.

Click on the Image field, and you’ll see the screen shown below.

Enter the dimensions of the image in the Width and Height fields.

Click on the Media tab, and you’ll see the Images field.
