Can I Schedule a Post in WordPress?

In a word, yes. WordPress allows you to schedule posts for future publication by setting a publish date and time.

You can also specify a delay before the post goes live, to give you a little more time to perfect it.

To set a post’s publish date and time:
1. Click the Posts button on the main WordPress screen.
2. On the Posts screen, click the Published tab.
3. To the right of the post’s title, click the Date & Time button.

4. In the Date & Time dialog box, set the date and time (YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS format).
5. To set a delay before the post goes live, enter a delay in seconds, minutes, or hours.
6. Click the Publish button.

To publish a post without setting a publish date and time:
1. To the right of the post’s title, click the Publish Now button. In the Publish Now dialog box, click the Publish Date & Time button. In the Publish Date & Time dialog box, set the publish date and time (YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS format).

The post will be published immediately.

A post’s publish date and time affects only the post itself. It doesn’t affect any other posts on the blog, or the blog’s overall publication date.

To schedule a post for future publication, you’ll need to use the WordPress publish date and time feature together with the post’s publish date and time setting on individual posts.

To publish a post for future publication and set a publish date and time for an individual post:
1.
4.

5. In the Publish Date & Time dialog box, set the publish date and time for the post (YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS format).
7.

The post will be published immediately, but with the publish date and time set for the post, not the date and time of the blog’s main screen.
