Can You Hyperlink an Image in WordPress?

Image hyperlinking in WordPress is a convenient way to include images in your blog posts and articles. Simply paste the URL of the image you want to link into the “Images” field in the post or article content, and WordPress will automatically include the image in the text.

However, there are a few caveats to keep in mind when hyperlinking images in WordPress. First, make sure the image you’re hyperlinking is in a publicly accessible location on the web. If you’re linking to an image that’s located on your own website, make sure the URL is properly formatted and includes the correct filename (for example, myimage.jpg instead of http://mywebsite.

com/myimage.jpg).

Second, make sure the image you’re hyperlinking is of the correct size. WordPress will only hyperlink images that are a minimum of 150 pixels wide and 150 pixels high.

If your image is less than those dimensions, WordPress will only include the first 50 pixels of the image in the post or article text, and the rest of the image will be hidden.

Finally, be aware that hyperlinking images in WordPress will generate additional HTTP requests. If your blog is hosted on a server with limited bandwidth, you may want to consider linking to smaller images instead of larger ones.
