How Do I Add SSL to AWS Lightsail WordPress?

SSL is a security feature that helps protect your data from being intercepted in transit. When you create a site on AWS Lightsail, we use the Certificate Manager to install a valid SSL certificate for your site. You can also configure SSL on your site by following these steps:

1. Log in to the AWS Lightsail console.

2. Click on the Security tab.

3. Click on the Advanced Security Settings button.

4. Under the SSL Settings section, click on the Add SSL Certificate button.

5. Type in the name of the certificate (for example, my-site-cert.

pem).

6. Upload the certificate file (for example, my-site-cert.

pem) to the AWS Lightsail instance.

7. Click on the OK button.

8. Click on the OK button again to save the changes.

9. Under the Security Settings section, under the SSL Settings heading, click on the OK button to save the changes.

10. Click on the Apply Changes button to apply the changes to your site.

11. Click on the OK button to save the changes.

12. Under the Site Configuration heading, under the Security tab, click on the OK button to save the changes.

13. Click on the OK button to close the Security tab.

14. Click on the Sites tab to view your site.

15. Under the Site Name heading, under the SSL Settings heading, click on the OK button to save the changes.

16. Click on the Site Name heading again to view the site without SSL.

17. Click on the SSL Settings button to view the SSL configuration for your site.

18. Under the Server Name heading, under the SSL Settings heading, click on the OK button to save the changes.

19. Click on the OK button to close the SSL Settings tab.

20. Under the Site Configuration heading, under the General tab, click on the OK button to save the changes.

47. Under the Server Name heading, under the SSL Settings heading, click on the Clear SSL Certificate button.
