How Do I Create a Custom Page Link in WordPress?
Creating custom page links in WordPress is a relatively straightforward process, but there are a few key steps to ensure your links look consistent and work properly.
1. Create a Custom Taxonomy
First, you’ll need to create a custom taxonomy to house the links you want to create. You can do this by using the “Add New” button in the WordPress admin area, or by using the “Add New Term” function in the WordPress toolbar.
2. Add a Custom Page Link Field to Your Taxonomy
After you’ve created your taxonomy, you’ll need to add a custom page link field to it. To do this, select the taxonomy in the WordPress admin area, and then click on the “Fields” tab.
Next, click on the “Add New Field” button, and then enter the name of the custom page link field in the “Field Name” field. Next, enter the URL of the page you want to link to in the “Field URL” field, and then click on the “Create Field” button.
3. Add Your Custom Page Links to Your Posts
After you’ve created the field and field URL, you’ll need to add them to your posts. To do this, select the post you want to add the link to, and then click on the “Advanced” button in the WordPress admin area.
Next, click on the “Settings” tab, and then enter the name of the custom page link field in the “Field Label” field. Next, enter the URL of the page you want to link to in the “Field URL” field, and then click on the “Update” button.
4. Test Your Links
Finally, you’ll need to test your links. To do this, select a post that contains a link to a page other than the main WordPress blog page, and then click on the “Refresh” button in the WordPress admin area.
