How Do I Create a WordPress Log?

Creating a WordPress log can be helpful in debugging issues and tracking changes. To create a log, open the WordPress admin panel and navigate to Settings > General > Logging.

On the Logging Settings page, you can select whether to log all activity (default), only errors, or only custom messages. You can also select how long logs are stored and which files to include in the log.

To create a log entry, hover your cursor over the Logging menu item and select New Entry. This will open the New Logging Entry dialog box. In the Log Title field, type a descriptive title for the log, such as “Activity Log.” In the Log Content field, type the details of the activity that you’re logging. For example, if you’re logging activity from your WordPress site, you might type “Website updated.

” In the Log Level field, select the level of detail that you want to include in the log. For example, you might choose Verbose for more detailed information, or Warning for lower-level warnings. In the Log Message field, type a brief message that describes the activity that you’re logging. Click the Log button to create the log entry.

To view or search the logs, open the WordPress admin panel and navigate to Settings > General > Logging. On the Logs page, you can select the logs that you want to view or search.

To delete a log entry, select it and then click the Delete button.
