How Do I Edit Blocks in WordPress?
If you’re looking to customize the look and feel of your WordPress site, you’ll want to be familiar with the WordPress Block Editor. This powerful tool lets you create custom blocks to add to your site’s content, layout, and style.
To get started, first choose a block you want to customize. For example, you can create a custom post type block to add new post types to your site, or a custom taxonomy block to manage your site’s categories.
Next, click on the “Blocks” dropdown menu in the editor toolbar and select “Block Editor.”
The Block Editor window will open. In the left column, you’ll see a grid of thumbnails representing all the blocks that are available on your site.
To add a new block, click on the “Add a new block” button to the right of the block you want to customize.
The Block Editor window will change to reflect the new block you’ve added. In the left column, you’ll see a grid of thumbnails representing all the content types that are available on your site.
In the right column, you’ll see a grid of thumbnails representing all the layout options that are available for that content type.
To add a new layout option, click on the “Add a new layout option” button to the right of the layout you want to add.
The Block Editor window will change to reflect the new layout option you’ve added.
In the right column, you’ll see a grid of thumbnails representing all the style options that are available for that content type.
To add a new style option, click on the “Add a new style option” button to the right of the style you want to add.
The Block Editor window will change to reflect the new style option you’ve added.
In the right column, you’ll see a grid of thumbnails representing all the theme options that are available for that content type.
To add a new theme option, click on the “Add a new theme option” button to the right of the theme you want to add.
The Block Editor window will change to reflect the new theme option you’ve added.
To add a new content type, click on the “Add a new content type” button to the right of the content type you want to add.
The Block Editor window will change to reflect the new content type you’ve added.
In the right column, you’ll see a grid of thumbnails representing all the content types that are available for that content type.
To add a new block, layout option, style option, or theme option, click on the “Add a new block, layout option, style option, or theme option” button to the right of the block, layout option, style option, or theme option you want to add.
The Block Editor window will change to reflect the new block, layout option, style option, or theme option you’ve added.
To save your changes, click on the “Save” button to the right of the Block Editor window.
Once you’ve saved your changes, your site will look and feel like the custom block you’ve created!
To remove a block, layout option, style option, or theme option from a content type, click on the “Remove a content type” button to the right of the content type in the left column.
To remove a block, layout option, style option, or theme option from all content types on your site, click on the “Remove all blocks, layout options, style options, and theme options” button to the right of the Block Editor window.
Finally, to close the Block Editor window, click on the “Close” button in the bottom left corner.
