How Do I Find User Roles in WordPress?
User roles are a great way to organize and manage your site content. You can create custom roles for users, and then assign specific permissions to those roles.
This way, you can control who can access specific areas of your site.
To create user roles in WordPress, first click the “Users” menu item from the main admin panel. Then, click the “Roles” tab.
You’ll see a list of all the user roles currently registered on your site. To create a new role, click the “New Role” button.
Next, you’ll need to specify the name of the role, and the permissions that the role will have. You can assign any number of permissions to a role, depending on what you want the role to be able to do.
To give a user the permissions required to use a role, click the “Permissions” tab for the role. Then, click the “Grants” button.
You’ll see a list of all the permissions that the role allows. To add a new permission, click the “Add” button.
You can also assign users to roles based on their IP address. To do this, click the “IP Ranges” tab for the role, and then select the IP addresses that the role should be applied to.
Finally, you can assign a role to a user by clicking the “Assign” button. Then, type the user’s name into the “User” field, and click the “Assign” button.
When you’re done, click the “Save” button to save your changes.
When you create a new role, WordPress will create a corresponding user account for the role. The user account will have the permissions that the role has been assigned, and the user will be listed in the “Users” menu under the role’s name.
You can also manage user roles by clicking the “Roles” menu item from the main admin panel, and then clicking the “Manage Roles” button. This will open the “Manage Roles” page, which will list all the user roles on your site, and the users who are registered to each role.
You can change the permissions for a role by clicking the “Permissions” tab for the role, and then clicking the “Edit” button. You can also delete a role by clicking the “Delete” button.
Finally, you can view the user data for a role by clicking the “User Data” tab for the role. This will open the “User Data” page, which will list all the posts, pages, comments, and other data that has been associated with the user account registered to the role.
