If you want to add a thumbnail image to your category posts in WordPress, you can use the WPBakery Page Builder. The easiest way to do this is to add a custom post type, and then use the WPBakery Page Builder to create the thumbnail images.

To create a custom post type in WordPress, first go to Appearance -> Customize -> Post Types. Select the “Add new post type” button, and enter the name of the new post type in the “Name” field.
