How Do I Save My Changes to a Page in WordPress?
When you make changes to a WordPress page, you can save your changes by clicking the “save draft” button on the bottom of the editing window, or by pressing CTRL+S (Windows) or CMD+S (Mac). If you have an active WordPress login cookie, your changes will be saved automatically; if you don’t have an active login cookie, you’ll be prompted to enter your login information before your changes are saved.
WordPress will also automatically save your changes if you hit the “save” button on the toolbar while you’re editing a page. If you hit the “save” button while you’re previewing a page, your changes will be saved, but they won’t be saved if you hit the “save” button while you’re editing a page in live mode.
If you make changes to a page and then decide you don’t want them, you can click the “undo” button on the bottom of the editing window, or you can press CTRL+Z (Windows) or CMD+Z (Mac). If you have an active WordPress login cookie, your changes will be undone automatically; if you don’t have an active login cookie, you’ll be prompted to enter your login information before your changes are undone.
WordPress will also automatically undo your changes if you hit the “undo” button on the toolbar while you’re editing a page. If you hit the “undo” button while you’re previewing a page, your changes will be undone, but they won’t be undone if you hit the “undo” button while you’re editing a page in live mode.
If you want to keep a copy of your changes without actually saving them to the page, you can use the “save draft” button on the bottom of the editing window, or you can press CTRL+D (Windows) or CMD+D (Mac). This will save your changes, but they won’t be saved to the page until you click the “save” button on the toolbar.
If you want to save your changes but also keep a copy of the original version of the page, you can use the “save original” button on the bottom of the editing window, or you can press CTRL+O (Windows) or CMD+O (Mac). This will save your changes, but it will also save the original version of the page, which you can access by clicking the “original” link at the bottom of the editing window.
