As long as the slider plugins themselves are compatible with your version of WordPress, there isn’t going to be any problem that you are using more than one of them. We recommend that you create a backup of your website, then install the two slider plugins. If anything goes wrong, you can easily revert to the old version of your website.
It might be possible for two plugins to interfere with one another, but this is strongly dependent on the plugins themselves. There is no sure way of telling whether any two slider plugins would cause a WordPress website to malfunction.
If you meant to ask us about having Revolution and Layer sliders at the same time, lots of themes are actually sold with the two of them included. We’ve tested a few of these and everything seemed to work okay. However, Katya, Keep in mind that this is strongly dependent on the quality of your theme. If the theme you are using is poorly coded, problems might occur.

Hello, Peter. What you are talking about is, most probably, spam. These are comments created by people who are interested only in getting a link from your website. They want the link because it causes their website to appear in the first pages of search engines.
These comments appear generic because they are automated. In other words, it’s not an actual person that is visiting your website and leaving the comment – it’s an automated computer program which scans the Internet for blogs and it automatically places (identical in most cases) comments on people’s blogs.
We recommend that you install a plugin, like Akismet, to automatically filter those comments out.
I’ve been seeing the phrase “Retina Ready” on lots of themes. What does that mean? Does it increase quality or something? I hope that’s not too simple of a question!

A retina display is one which has a very large amount of pixels per square inch. Because this means that the pixels are smaller, while the dimensions of the display are large, if objects had to be displayed with their common size, they would look very small. Imagine a 5” smartphone that has 1920×1080 pixels. This is a very high pixel density, and if objects (such as photos) had to be displayed on a constant amount of pixels, they would appear very small.
This is why retina ready themes actually know when the device has a large pixel density and they give objects larger dimensions so that they appear in normal size on mobile device screens.
A lot of the themes you’ve posted on this website seem to have included “Demo Content”. What is that? Why would I want demo content installed on my website?
Hi Scott, Demo Content is used when you’ve just installed the theme. You first have to import it to your website, most likely via a XML file. Then you can open your website and it will be full of content. If you’re planning on customizing your website, it’s strongly recommended that you do so if there’s only dummy content in it. This way, if something bad happens, you will have lost nothing important.
So import demo content, make the customizations to the design and layout, add any plugins that you’ve planned on installing and test if your website works properly. This way you’ll both be able to see how your website would look if filled up with content, and you can prevent the loss of important data.
Hello. I’ve been looking through your website and I’ve saw a lot of your collections and individual themes. Before I continue, I just have to say that I am not very technology savvy and I don’t have much of an idea how HTML and CSS work.

When I’m looking at theme catalogs I see a lot of websites and they kind of all seem the same to me. Can you explain how and why you know that the themes you are sharing are superior to the others? The demos of most of the themes that I’m seeing look excellent and the list of features is almost identical every time.

Think of the theme demos this way: they are the sales copy that is meant to make you want to buy the theme. No WordPress designer is going to show you a demo that has something faulty in it.
They will only show you the good sides of the theme, while trying to cover up some of the not so good parts.
Just looking at a theme demo isn’t enough. If you have the list of features that the designers have mentioned, you should always check if those are present in the theme. For instance, a good designer which knows that his code is correct and it will work at all times will have a page where he demonstrates a few of the custom fonts that are available in his theme.
Lots of themes also claim that they have lots features. Although this might be true, it is possible that under certain conditions some of those features might malfunction. And if those features malfunction, then you won’t have much use of them, would you?
Another thing that we are always looking out is the design and layout of the theme. Is the design good enough? Does the designer of the theme show enough of it? Just claiming that you have a powerful builder, X available layouts, and Y color schemes, isn’t enough. You have to prove that those actually work.
So to sum it all up, we take into account three things: what features the theme includes, how well it is designed, and current customer opinions. You can easily find excellent designed themes that, when put to work, perform poorly. And you can find themes supporting all of the major plugins, and having the largest set of features – but that won’t be so important if your website is below average.
What do you mean that you’ve seen some of them. Of course you have, there are demo buttons everywhere. It’s hard not to see them. Also there are screenshots. While the demo sites look good, I don’t think that they are exaggerating.

Of course you can search by features. In the search field on the top right corner of the website you just type in the name of the feature that you’re searching for. For optimal results, you should only use the feature name itself. Strings like “themes that include WooCommerce” might not bring you all of the results for themes which have the plugin.
We also tag our themes with the names of the more popular features (Revolution slider, WooCommerce, Visual Composer, etc), so you can easily find themes in the category you are looking for with the selected features.

Even though a theme might be good now, we have to be sure that the developer is devoted to the product and will provide adequate updates to the product later on.
It’s not a rare case where the developer comes out with an initially great theme, but abandons the project afterwards. And, sooner or later, the people who have bought this theme will have to get another one, because their current one is outdated.
What we’re trying to say is – we’re looking only for themes that have developers that are devoted to the cause. You’ll have no use in buying a great theme that doesn’t get updates – it will cost you more and you will have to go through the selection process all over again.

Hello. The Internet is a vast place where everything comes down to traffic. So, in a way, a website which only promotes real estate properties, without actually being an agency, is alright, as long as there are enough people coming to the website.
You might understand it through this simple example: imagine placing someone to give flyers at the end of the town. Not many people will come and the reach will be very small. On the other hand, if you place people at the center of the city, then you will have a much larger reach. If a website has little traffic, then you can compare it to the person at the end of the town. On the other hand, if a website has a lot of traffic, it will be the person which is in the center of the town.
The whole point of this is to say that there are not few good real estate websites, not owned by agencies, that have lots of traffic and people are paying them for their property listing to be displayed.
What’s the difference between WordPress portfolio sites and normal WordPress websites?
There isn’t much of a difference. The most basic thing is the theme – a portfolio theme is usually a theme that allows you to place lots of visual content. Iv been searching for a new theme to buy, there are so many that I am having a difficult time to decide. First of all, im wondering about all the plugings iv installed, will they be compatible with my new theme?? The ones that worry me most are the cache and security plugings, they are very technical and they took time to figure out. Will I have to redo all of the widgit and the menus work over. I just cant decide on which theme to buy, as im finding faults on all of them. Actually the theme I bought was pretty basic, and ok until now, the theme hasnt been updated for 5 months… so time to change. Change is nice tho.
My main question is, themes like Avada or BeTheme, are they to loaded with stuff. Is this a good idea to have all those options? Can those options be turned off if not needed? Can we try a free demo of those themes to see if we really like them?
I need to be able to have two menu, and it be multi-author page and author box at the top of the author page with a short bio, with a picture showing from profile and not just from the avatar as some people dont want the account. That is what I like about them. Since my site is in french, I need the translation to be correct, as Iv seen some badly translated themes too… What else… Well thought for seo, responsive, fast loading spead… not sure I like those page builder so much as it might cause problems when changing theme.

I think that WordPress store themes are relying on WooCommerce too much. I think that if there were a plugin with similar popularity it would be great competition for Woo. Now, they can do whatever they want. I personally think that you can end up paying hundreds of dollars for extensions of that plugin. Hence, WordPress isn’t going to be a cheap solution anymore.
I don’t think that a WordPress store theme can be as powerful as Shopify. The latter is a platform which is exclusively for creating online stores. WordPress started out as a blogging platform and most of its features come from plugins – that means that it is dependent. Shopify, on the other hand, has lots of features which you can use, even if you are a novice. It too has plugins, but they are created by the same developers that have created the platform itself. This makes me think that they will be very tightly integrated with the builder. You can even hire a professional who will help you set up your store as well as other things.

I remember when I started using WordPress regularly. It was a few years ago and I was very confused. All of the themes looked great to me and I would install plugins frantically, even though a large part of them would remain unused. Now, several years later, I’ve improved and I’ve learnt a lot of things about WordPress. Here are a few of my tips for those of you who are just starting out.
1. Always use WordPress premium templates. This is fairly simple. I used to ‘pirate’ lots of premium themes in the past, but that lead to nothing good. Perhaps a good 90% of the pirated premium themes have some code included in them that will sooner or later start causing you problems. These problems might be: stealing your data, causing certain plugins to malfunction, or having problems with basic WordPress features.
2. Only install plugins you will need. This will save you server resources, and you will learn to keep your WordPress installation very clean. This is important for performance, especially when your website grows – it won’t matter much when you have 100 visitors daily, but if you get into four or five figures, that’s going to matter.
3. Custom post types aren’t that great. This is mainly because when you switch themes, the new one might not support it. Even though the fact that you will have a special type of layout that will do you a great job, think about the future. Once you change themes, you will have to redesign your content’s structure because it might not display properly.
4. Learn HTML/CSS and a little PHP. Even though WordPress is created so that people who know nothing about those 3 languages can create websites, it would be a great plus if you can edit the code of your web pages. Every once and then something might not work out with the visual editor, so you will have to dig into the code. I’ve had not one or two problems and I’ve had to dig through tens of forum threads to find an answer. When I learnt to code (just the most basic things), everything worked out better.
5. Be a part of a WordPress community. Instead of creating your website and not caring about WordPress anymore, go and be a part of a community. You will get lots of help, find new friends, and eventually start helping others as well. There are lots of benefits to it, and you will feel good for helping the community, as well as being a part of one.

We’ve thought of creating such collections, but we came to the conclusion that they won’t be of much use to most of the people.
The idea of our website is to create collections which are suited for a specific topic or share a common feature. If we created such a collection, it would have more of an entertaining purpose, rather than actually helping people who are looking for a good design.
Why is it that important to have a responsive theme. Won’t it get displayed properly on PCs? I need to understand this before I buy one.
Responsiveness is a need nowadays. There are hundreds of different screen sizes and pixel densities being used. That means that if your website is static, it’s going to be shown properly only on a specific set of sizes. Having a responsive site makes sure that you cover as many of the cases as possible. It will also automatically detect if you are browsing from a large screen with large pixel density – mobile devices. Then it will show an appropriate version of the website. In a way, responsiveness is an investment in the future. With more and more devices which can access the internet, it’s important to support as many of the displays as possible.
Why are themes so expensive? With so many people buying them, the developers are surely profiting much more than they should!
Theme prices are based on the effort put into the creation of the theme, the price for any of the plugins that had to be bought so that they can be included, and expected customer base.
Most themes charge you one time and you receive updates for as long as the theme is supported. So if you plan on using a theme for several years and on many websites, you could end up paying less than $0.01 per day for the theme. Themes like Avada have been around for a very long time and they are constantly releasing updates.
Another factor that might make a theme expensive is sales goal over-achievement. If the marketing team of a theme company determined that a theme would be sold 1,000 times, they’ve adjusted the price accordingly so that they can earn their profit.
If the theme surpasses those expectations, it might look as it’s too expensive. If a certain theme is under-performing, the developers might increase the theme price so that the goal income is reached easier.

There are a lot of free themes available, but they are not high-quality and they can’t perform as well as premium ones. Free themes are created for 2 reasons: either it’s for learning purposes, or a premium designer studio is trying to attract more customers.
VideoPro by Theme Junkie is NOT responsive although some of their sales materials imply that it is. It’s a shame because they have good support and it’s a good theme, but NOT responsive. Now that Google insists on mobile-friendly, it is absolutely required to have a theme be responsive. MAKE SURE before you buy! Hoping that Theme Junkie updates their themes!
I really like how you create “collections” of amazing new templates and make it extremely easy to find a good theme. I’ve been to some designer website, but the problem there is that they won’t show you the bad sides of their themes. I really like that there are websites like this which help people determine whether a theme is good or not.

WordPress has become a great platform for creating online stores, even one knows nothing about coding. There are several eCommerce plugins that can help you create an online store, but WooCommerce is by far the best one of them.
So if you’re looking to create an online store you should look out for some things:
– WooCommerce support – There are other excellent plugins, but this one is just a level above them. Even if you’re a total newbie, you’ll have no problems setting up an online store with this plugin.
– Product filtering – This isn’t a hard thing to do, yet there are lots of themes that don’t offer this feature. If you really want to offer great service to your clients, you should only look for themes that have the filtering feature. It would be even better if you can create your own custom filter criteria (price, color, size, availability, brand, etc)
– Appropriate layout – If your website doesn’t have an appropriate layout, it will be hard for your visitors to navigate through your website and eventually end up buying something from you. What do we mean by an appropriate layout? We think that Mega Menu is a must for online stores nowadays. It provides an easy way of browsing products and categories and it’s greatly perceived by users. Another thing is how your website is laid out. Is there enough space for the different types of product views? The more products that are visible “above the fold”, the better for your business.
In general, those are the three most important things to look out for. These are our base criteria when selecting themes to include in our collections.

I have an online store and eCommerce themes from WordPress are really good to use. I think that it’s very easy and cheap to use WordPress for creating an online store. I don’t know why people are going for Shopify instead of this platform.
People have different budgets. Not only that, they have different preferences. I’m sure that a lot of people will tell you that big online stores are not using WordPress, and they might be right, but many of the small ones are. However, when they grow in business, they start realizing that migrating to another platform is too hard.
This is why they continue sticking around until a better offer for them comes. Shopify is a bit too complicated, expensive, but gives a lot of features. I mean, the POS integration is one of the best things that you can get (as a feature), because it allows you to seemingly integrate your online with your offline store.
I’ve been wondering, why do premium frameworks offer “demo content”. What’s the use of that? And what is that demo content like?
Demo content is used before you start creating your actual website. It serves as an example of how it your theme will look when it’s filled with content. If you have a clean WordPress installation, then you will most probably have no content on your website at all. Then when you create new pages and posts, they will be blank.
Demo content will create lots of “dummy” pages and fill them with content. In a way, it is used to showcase the features of the framework. We strongly recommend using the demo content which is included with your template, because it could save you lots of headaches.
If you’re still getting used to the layout, any changes that you make to it might not always result in what you were expecting. So instead of risking your content, you can use the demo content to test out your website. Dummy content is mostly lorem ipsum text and photos, so you can get a feel of what the design is like.
Demo content is also very commonly used when changing the code of your Word Press installation. Sometimes that can result in the website malfunctioning. If you’re using dummy content, you won’t lose any of your actual content.
One very important thing to note is that if you import the demo content on a non-clean installation (you already have content on your website), then you will erase all of the previous content. This is why you should only use the dummy content when you’ve just installed WordPress and you have no information that you would like to keep.

Parallax themes really are a beauty. They are so different than anything else that you see. Most of the people say that parallax is only a small effect, but it just enriches the browsing experience. I sometimes get carried away and play for a minute or two with the sections. That’s why I prefer having it on my website – it’s fancy, trendy and it won’t hurt anyone.
personally, don’t think that parallax effects are that big of a deal. This is just an image moving in the opposite direction of your scrolling. This creates an effect which is hard to perceive and makes it interesting. But there is nothing interesting about it. You want your visitors to read what you have on your website, you don’t want them playing with your background, noticing nothing in the process. Parallax themes might be interesting for photography portfolios on one-page themes, but anything besides that is just not cool with me. I think the trend is behind it’s peek.
It depends on the design of your website and on how you plan using the parallax effect. If you use images that are “screaming” in nature, then it will most probably surprise, not in a positive way, your clients. But if you use the right images, that fit right into your design, then the parallax will surely leave a good first opinion in your visitors.
I wouldn’t recommend using parallax effects for businesses and corporations, but if you are confident in what you are doing, then you should go for it.
That 907 theme hasn’t picked a good name, but their demo looks interesting. One page themes are perfect for utilizing the parallax effects and this seems like a theme that is action packed. I think that it could go for a bit more than just a portfolio.
Wynn was the only AJAX layout missing in this collection. AJAX nowadays is almost mandatory for online photography websites. It is one of the ways to make sure that you give your clients a pleasant time browsing your website, while speeding up the page loading times. I don’t know, however, if they have the right of using an image of Bernadette (any TBBT fans out there?)

Why didnt you feature Knead?
It is a very clean design with a fully responsive layout that is going to blow away your visitors. Apart from the powerful portfolio features, there are also other cool modules – custom contact forms and pages, pricing tables, visual customizer, custom typography, and advanced options panel. The best thing about the Knead is that it comes with several different demos that you can build upon.

I don’t think that WordPress is the right platform for creating gallery websites. A website builder would be much better. It’s true that you can use a page builder for wp, but that’s not very powerful. You are practically creating layouts with columns, that’s not very flexible.
That’s a very wrong thought. Actually, website builders will require much more work. Given the fact that you are most probably not a designer, I think that you will not be able to come up with a good outlook for your website. On the other hand you have wordpress and many plugins and themes. Now that’s a winning combination. You can create different things using the same template. How cool is that!?
Can you tell me whether I can import the data from my WooCommerce plugin onto another plugin for online stores on WordPress?
That strongly depends on the plugin that you want to import the data to. Some of the eCommerce plugins will allow you to import data from other plugins and some will not.
However, even if you can import data, it is still important to check whether the plugin that you are going to use on your other site is compatible with the type of data from WooCommerce. Even though this it the most popular way of creating an online store, a lot of its competitors do not support such “migration”.
We suggest that you went to the website of the new plugin and checked the features list. Then you can see whether the plugin supports WooCommerce or not.
I recently had a client who owns several WordPress real estate sites. He hired me to fix some technical stuff and play around with the settings so that the design of the website changes without switching the theme. The experience wasn’t as pleasant. Real Estate are really hard to customize. It’s better to get another theme rather than spending time on customizing the settings.
I think studiopress child themes are best to get any kind of web design.

I’ve seen the DIVI theme the last time I was here! It’s great and all, and I even own it. But I think that you should take it off – give some of the new competitors a chance. People love security, but they love creativity more. If you have more new themes then I think that your collection will be much more popular.
I agree that it’s been quite some time. But I don’t agree that it should be taken down. This is a great theme. The developers have put in a lot of good work and they continue supporting the theme. These are the types of products that should be promoted. This is the way a product should be developed and this should be a template business plan for other theme creators. I think that a compromising solution would be to move it a few places below. I’m sure that a lot of people have already gotten the theme, and would like something new. This would also allow the other users to see it (since you aren’t removing it).
I also have a list of great wordpress themes. You should also consider the speed of a theme (not only for SEO propose). And about the avada theme – i dont understand why it is listed here. Lots of features make this wordpress theme very slow. Also the backend is very slow and there are soo many useless options…some people call this featuritis. But still a great list of wordpress themes.
I think that the ecommerce builders deserve their place. I would also argue that the top builders should not be so highly rated as well. However, I suppose that this is the opinion of the different people. I don’t have a favorite but I’ve used Wix, Weebly and Web. I can’t say that either of those has impressed me very much. They are okay, they do the job fine.
I know this is more about WP, but I really had to say it.

One thing that springs to mind is these themes security. I had Tripod installed some time ago and I was on a trip for some time. I got a warning from my host that my theme was the culprit for some malicious files being uploaded on my server that they took care of. However, I couldn’t do anything about this because the theme was at it’s latest update.
So I was wondering how the theme was hacked? Did anyone had similar experience?

I’ve used many of the themes above. My personal recommendation would be Kallyas. They really made a good job with the V4+ versions.
Kallyas templates is just so outdated it’s crazy. Why don’t people browse the fresh OR popular sections of the main marketplaces and see what’s out there to compare – I just don’t get it.
